Integrate Scanning Technology into PhotoScan
AnsweredWhen I say scanning technology, I'm referring to an app like Scannable (linked with Evernote). It also uses autocapture platform that automatically converts images to pdfs. The biggest benefit is that it automatically corrects for shadows and highlights text, so the resulting files are much easier to read and use.
It's possible for me to use Scannable to convert documents initially, and it would take several additional steps to get it into Tax Caddy. It would be more convenient if the Tax Caddy app itself could convert images as effectively.

Hi Kevin,
Thank you for submitting the enhancement request. This feature currently exists with TaxCaddy.
if you have paper documents, you can simply photoscan them on your TaxCaddy mobile app, and it automatically converts them to PDF files for upload. You can find the links to the Apple App Store and Google Play by clicking on our Help Center article: https://helpcenter.taxcaddy.com/hc/en-us/articles/228376788-Getting-the-TaxCaddy-mobile-app
If you have any further questions, you can always reach out to us by sending an email to support@taxcaddy.com or starting a Live Chat by clicking on the Support button within your TaxCaddy account.

Vanessa,
Yes, the app does have the ability to scan, but the issue is less about file type (I couldn't tell it was pdf from the app) but about processing. As I suggested to a member of your support team when I was first contacted about this, the in-app tech is cumbersome and frustrating to use. It often includes the surface surrounding the paper in the image, and I then feel I have to edit it. If the shot is at an angle or in shadow at all, it also obscures the details. On the whole, it's fine, I was just suggesting that if possible, you could integrate better technology. The Scannable app, for example, takes images and converts them in real-time to be more interpretable. It is more user-friendly and yields vastly superior images/pdfs.
You do not need to respond to this comment, it's just a suggestion.
