Release Notes 2025-06-22, Web (Firm Preparing option)

Hi everyone, here's what's new in TaxCaddy this month:

• Firm Preparing option for document requests

Firm Preparing option for document requests

You will now see the new Firm Preparing option available on the document request menu! The Firm Preparing status should be used when a document request is being handled by your tax professional. In cases like these, you do not need to upload a document for this request.

After you've selected your Document Requests task from the Overview screen, you will now see the option to mark a document request as Firm Preparing in the MORE ACTIONS menu.

Click here to learn more about marking requests as Firm Preparing, Already Provided, or Doesn't Apply.

Once the Firm Preparing option is selected, the document request will now be denoted with the Firm Preparing icon to indicate your selection.

Document requests marked as Firm Preparing will be prepared by your tax professional and require no further action on your end.

If you've erroneously marked a document request as Firm Preparing, you can select Undo 'Firm Preparing' from the MORE ACTIONS menu.
