How do I log in to TaxCaddy?
Log in to TaxCaddy by going to https://consumer.taxcaddy.com/#/login. Use your email address and password to log in to TaxCaddy. (There is no separate username.)

What are the password requirements?
Passwords must be more than 7 characters long, with both upper and lowercase letters, a number, and a special character. Passwords cannot contain spaces, emojis ☻, symbols ♣, or other non-English characters

What happens if I fail to log in?
If you fail three consecutive log in attempts, that account will lock for two hours, and you will be unable to log in even with the correct password. You can check your email to find out if your account has been temporarily locked.
Resetting a password successfully unlocks an account that has been temporarily locked out due to failed log in attempts.

Why can't I log in to TaxCaddy?
First, ensure you're logging in to TaxCaddy with the email address of your account. If you forgot your password, you can reset it (See Question #5 on how to do this). Make sure all fields are correctly filled out. Password is case sensitive, capital and lowercase letters must match exactly. If you still can't log in, check your email to find out if your account has been temporarily locked.

Why aren't I receiving any password reset emails?
If you attempt to reset your password and fail three times, your account will be locked from resetting the password. Note that you can still log in if you remember your password. If you successfully log in, it will remove the password reset lock. If you're unable to reset your password yourself, please contact TaxCaddy Support.

How do I know what my log in email address is?
You can attempt a password reset for any email address you believe may be associated with your TaxCaddy account. If the email address is valid, you will receive an email to reset your password. If you're unable to identify your log in email address, please contact TaxCaddy Support.

Can I login into TaxCaddy if I don't have a password?
If you were sent an invite that allowed you to log in using the SMS code sent to your phone then you can access TaxCaddy using just a mobile number and email address. When you receive an invitation email from your tax professional after they've added you to their client records, click the link found in the email to receive a one-time access code sent to your mobile number and be directed to the TaxCaddy login page. Enter this code into the login page to log in to TaxCaddy.
If your login link expired after two weeks or you misplaced the invite email, generate a new link to continue accessing TaxCaddy. Click here to learn more about generating a new login link.
You can continue to use this method of login until you decide to add a password to your account.

What do I do if my access link expires?
If the TaxCaddy access link your tax professional has expired, go to the TaxCaddy login page. Click Send me a New Login Link. Enter your email to receive a new link to access TaxCaddy. This link will be valid for two weeks, at which point you will need to resend a new access link using the Send me a New Login Link feature.

Can I still create a password after signing in through email?
Yes, you can set up a password for your TaxCaddy account at any time! To create a password, sign in to TaxCaddy as you normally would through email. From the Overview screen, click Set up account password. From there you will be asked to provide your account's new password that you can use to log in to TaxCaddy without the need for an email.
