Uploading documents allows you to add and share tax documents with your tax professional. You can also use the upload documents feature to fulfill existing documents requested by your tax professional.

You can also retrieve documents directly from your financial institution, share downloaded or saved documents from your phone with TaxCaddy, or upload requested items.
TaxCaddy.com on PC, Mac or tablet
Follow these steps to upload documents using TaxCaddy.com on your PC, Mac or tablet.
- Log in to TaxCaddy.com.

Under Quick access options, you will see panels to Upload _____ Tax Documents. Each panel uploads documents to a specific tax year. You can click the panels or drag documents on either one of the top two panels. Your document will be uploaded according to the tax year listed on the panel.
Drop zones also appear in Requested Items and Uploaded Documents.

Browse to the location of the file(s) on your device and select file(s) to upload.
Accepted file formats are: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls and .xlsx. You can upload multiple files to the same category at one time.

When the Uploaded Documents dialog box appears, select a Category and Tax Year for the document.
If you are uploading multiple files that need to be filed to separate categories, click Decide Later.

You can also use the search bar to find your category.

Select a subcategory or click +Add New to add a new subcategory.

Click Upload.
- Wait for the file(s) to complete uploading then click Close.
You can click Drag or click here to upload documents or drag additional documents onto the drop zone to upload more documents to the same category.
- The uploaded document will appear under the Uploaded Documents tab, placed under the assigned category and tax year.
iOS mobile app
Follow these steps to upload documents by taking a photo with the TaxCaddy iPhone mobile phone app or uploading from other services.

Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app. If you were already signed in, make sure you are on the Overview screen by tapping the Overview icon on the navigation bar.

Tap +Add a Document.

You can upload a document from your device or take a photo. To upload from local device or iCloud, tap Upload a File.
Alternatively, you can go to the Documents screen, tap the Menu icon
then tap Upload a File.

If you prefer to take a photo of your document, tap Take A Photo.
Alternatively, you can go to the Documents screen, tap the Menu icon
then tap Take a Photo.
If you selected Take a Photo for the first time, TaxCaddy will need permission to access the camera. Tap SET PERMISSION to continue.
If you see the requesting permission dialog box, tap OK to allow TaxCaddy access to your camera.

Position the camera over the document. Additional instructions appear onscreen. The photo will be captured automatically when the camera is properly aligned with the document. If TaxCaddy can't automatically take the photo after 20 seconds, you'll be given an option to take it manually.

Tap the tax year to upload the document to another tax year.
Tap the tax year where the document should be uploaded.

Tap a category for the document, or tap Decide Later to skip without selecting a category.

You can also tap the All tab to view all the categories or use the search input field to search for a category by name.

If applicable, tap a subcategory or add a new subcategory. To add a new subcategory, tap the Add icon
If you selected to add a new category then enter the new category name then tap Next.

Review your document information. You can tap the Enter Document name field to change the document name. Similarly, you can tap tax year, category, or subcategory to select different options if necessary.

Tap Save to upload the document.
Android mobile app
Follow these steps to upload documents by taking a photo with the TaxCaddy Android mobile phone app.
- Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app. If you were already signed in, make sure you are on the Overview screen by tapping the Menu icon
then Overview.
- Tap ADD A DOCUMENT.

You can upload a document from your device or take a photo. To upload from local device or iCloud, tap Upload a File.
Alternatively, you can go to the Documents screen, tap the Menu icon
then tap Upload a File.
If you selected Upload a File for the first time, TaxCaddy will need permission to access the device storage. Tap SET PERMISSION to continue.

- Tap RETAKE to take the photo again, EDIT to edit the photo, or USE to use the current photo.
- After taking the photo, confirm whether or not the document contains multiple pages.
