Gathering personal information helps your tax professional prepare your tax return(s). The Personal Information screen in TaxCaddy allows you to conveniently share your personal information without having to fill out paperwork then sending it back to your tax professional.

Step 1. Go to the Personal Information screen
Follow these steps to confirm your personal information when using TaxCaddy.com on your PC, Mac, or tablet.
Sign in to TaxCaddy.com
On the Task List (left panel), click Confirm Personal Information.
Step 2. Enter state ID
On the State ID panel, enter personal information for the main taxpayer user.
Click one of the following options:
I don't have an ID | Click this if you do not have an identification card then skip to the next panel. |
ADD | Click ADD to add your Driver's License or State ID. |
If you opted to add an ID then select one of the following options, then click CONTINUE.
- Select Add Manually to manually enter information from your Driver's License or State ID.
- Select Upload Photo to upload a picture of your Driver's License or State ID.
Add Manually
If you selected Add Manually then you will see the Add State ID dialog box.
To identify your ID type, select Driver's License or State ID.
Enter information from your ID card, then click SAVE.
Tip: You can click the Date Picker icon to select the date.
You can also click the calendar title to quickly switch between months and tax years.
The information you entered provided will appear in the panel. Go to the next panel.
Upload Photo
If you prefer to upload a photo, select Upload Photo, then click CONTINUE.
Select a photo of your diver's license, then click Open.
If necessary, you can adjust the uploaded photo by using the zoom and rotate feature. Click SAVE, to continue.
The uploaded photo will appear in the State ID panel.
Step 3. Enter spouse state ID
On the Spouse State ID panel, you can provide your spouse's ID if applicable. Click the following options:
I don't have a spouse |
Click this if you do not have a spouse then skip to the next panel. Note: This option will be disabled if you already have a spouse user connected to your account. LEARN MORE >> |
My spouse does not have an ID | Click this if your spouse does not have a Driver's License or a State ID. Once selected, skip to the next panel. |
ADD | Click ADD to add your spouse's Driver's License or State ID. You will need to either upload a photo or manually enter the information. |
If you opted to add your spouse's ID then select one of the following options, then click CONTINUE.
- Select Add Manually to manually enter information from your spouse's Driver's License or State ID. LEARN MORE >>
- Select Upload Photo to upload a picture of your spouse's Driver's License or State ID. LEARN MORE >>
After confirming your spouse's information is correctly uploaded/entered, go to the next panel.
Step 4. Enter Mailing Address
On the Mailing Address panel, you can provide your mail/shipping address. Click the following options:
Use the same address as my state ID |
Click this if your mailing address is the same address as your Driver's License or a State ID. You don't need to manually enter or upload a photo of your mailing address if you selected this option. |
ADD | Click ADD to enter your mailing information or upload a photo of your address. |
If you opted to add your mailing address then select one of the following options, then click CONTINUE.
- Select Add Manually to manually enter your mailing address.
- Select Upload Photo to upload a photo of your mailing address. You can upload a photo similar to previous steps. LEARN MORE >>
You will see the Add Mailing Address dialog box if you selected to manually enter your mailing address. Enter the mailing address, then click SAVE.
Step 5. Confirmation
Once you have submitted everything, click CONFIRM.
On the Personal Information Confirmation dialog box, click SUBMIT.
You cannot make any changes to your personal information once you click SUBMIT. If you need to remove or update any information, click CANCEL.

Your personal information will be sent to your tax professional and the task will be removed from the Task List on the Overview screen.
You will be able to see a printed copy of your personal information after you complete the questionnaire and your tax professional prints the questionnaire to Documents > Uploaded Documents.

Edit or Clear Data
Before submitting your personal information, you can go back and edit or remove data entered for each panel. Data cannot be edited or cleared if the personal information has already been submitted.
Click EDIT to edit the information on the selected panel.
Click CLEAR DATA to remove all information for the selected panel.
If you uploaded a photo of your ID then you can also click the x icon to remove an uploaded photo.
iOS mobile app
Follow these steps on your iOS mobile phone app:
Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app, then tap the Confirm Personal Information under Tax Pro Request.
State ID
On the State ID panel, tap one of the following options:
I don't have a State ID | Tap this if you do not have an identification card then skip to the next panel. |
ADD | Tap ADD to add your Driver's License or State ID. |
If you selected to add a State ID then you can:
- Tap Add Manually to manually enter information from your Driver's License or State ID.
- Tap Take a Photo to take a photo of your Driver's License or State ID.
- Tap Upload a Photo to upload a picture of your Driver's License or State ID from your device.
(iOS) Add Manually
If you selected Add Manually then you will see the Add ID screen. Tap Driver's License or State ID, enter all the details from your ID, then tap SAVE CHANGES.
You will see an error message(s) if a required field is missing information. You can enter the missing information then tap SAVE CHANGES again.
(iOS) Take a Photo
If you selected Take a Photo then TaxCaddy may ask permission to access your camera. Tap SET PERMISSION.
Tap OK to continue.
Take a photo of your ID.
Tap Use Photo to use the photo. Tap Retake to take a picture again.
If necessary, you can adjust the uploaded photo by using the zoom and rotate feature.
Tap Save to upload the photo.
Tap NEXT to continue to the next panel.
Tap EDIT to change the provided ID.
Tap CLEAR DATA to remove the currently provided information for this panel.
Spouse State ID
On the Spouse State ID panel, you can provide your spouse's ID if applicable. Tap the following options:
I don't have a spouse |
Tap this if you do not have a spouse, then tap NEXT to skip to the next panel. Note: This option will be disabled if you already have a spouse user connected to your account. |
My spouse does not have an ID | Tap this if your spouse does not have a Driver's License or a State ID. Once selected, tap NEXT to skip to the next panel. |
ADD | Click ADD to add your spouse's Driver's License or State ID. You will need to either take a photo, upload a photo or manually enter the information. |
After uploading/entering your spouse's personal information, tap NEXT.
Mailing Address
On the Mailing Address panel, you can provide your mail/shipping address. Click the following options:
USE ADDRESS FROM MY ID |
Tap this if your mailing address is the same address as your Driver's License or a State ID. You don't need to manually enter or upload a photo of your mailing address if you selected this option. |
ADD | Tap ADD to enter your mailing information or take/upload a photo of your address. |
Tap CONTINUE to submit your personal information.
You cannot make any changes to your personal information once you click SUBMIT. If you need to remove or update any information, go to the previous panels then tap EDIT or CLEAR DATA.
Android mobile app
Follow these steps on your Android mobile phone app.
Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app, then tap the Confirm Personal Information under Tax Pro Request.
State ID
On the State ID panel, tap one of the following options:
I don't have a State ID | Tap this if you do not have an identification card then skip to the next panel. |
ADD | Tap ADD to add your Driver's License or State ID. |
If you selected to add a State ID then you can:
- Tap Add Manually to manually enter information from your Driver's License or State ID.
- Tap Take a Photo to take a photo of your Driver's License or State ID.
- Tap Upload a Photo to upload a picture of your Driver's License or State ID from your device.
(Android) Add Manually
If you selected Add Manually then you will see the Add ID screen. Tap Driver's License or State ID, enter all the details from your ID, then tap SAVE CHANGES.
You will see an error message(s) if a required field is missing information. You can enter the missing information then tap SAVE CHANGES again.
(Android) Take a Photo
If you selected Take a Photo then TaxCaddy may ask permission to access your camera. Tap SET PERMISSION.
Tap Allow to continue.
Take a photo of your ID.
If necessary, you can adjust the uploaded photo by using the zoom and rotate feature.
Tap Save to upload the photo.
Tap NEXT to continue to the next panel.
Tap EDIT to change the provided ID.
Tap CLEAR DATA to remove the currently provided information for this panel.
Spouse State ID
On the Spouse State ID panel, you can provide your spouse's ID if applicable. Tap the following options:
I don't have a spouse |
Tap this if you do not have a spouse, then tap NEXT to skip to the next panel. Note: This option will be disabled if you already have a spouse user connected to your account. |
My spouse does not have an ID | Tap this if your spouse does not have a Driver's License or a State ID. Once selected, tap NEXT to skip to the next panel. |
ADD | Click ADD to add your spouse's Driver's License or State ID. You will need to either take a photo, upload a photo or manually enter the information. |
After uploading/entering your spouse's personal information, tap NEXT.
Mailing Address
